DUCT CLEANING VERIFICATION

PROJECT BACKGROUND

bTech was retained by a newly constructed, state of the art hospital and medical facility located in North America to perform HVAC Duct Cleanliness Verification.  Following the construction of the 300 patient room hospital, the extensive HVAC ductwork system was cleaned by NADCA (National Air Duct Cleaning Association) certified contractors.  bTech’s primary responsibility was to perform third-party verification that the duct work was cleaned to NADCA ACR 2006 Standard.

THE CHALLENGE

The project was on a very tight deadline to meet the planned and highly publicized opening date for the new hospital.  Various major HVAC cleaning contractors were brought in from around the surrounding areas and duct cleaning was conducted at a very fast pace 24 hours a day throughout the hospital.

THE EXECUTION

bTech’s team of technicians conducted assessments around the clock and quickly adapted to the changing needs of the project to ensure the duct cleaning work met the strict deadline and facility opened to patients on time.

bTech evaluated the condition of the hospital’s supply and return air ducts with respect to NADCA ACR 2006 Method 1 (visual inspection) and Method 3 (Vacuum Test) following cleaning and directed duct cleaning contractors when any additional cleaning was necessary.

THE RESULT

bTech’s broad range of skills and resources were vital in completing this demanding project cost effectively and within the tight time constraints.  The duct cleaning and bTech’s evaluation were completed to the satisfaction of the client and the hospital opened on time.
